It was one of those days.
You know? When you just want to go home , or party with your friends, or just plain leave school all together for whatever purpose you can conjure up? Usually Landon didn't have problems with ditching or attendance; he liked school. It was here that he played football; it was where his friends were. But he really just wanted to leave right now; get in his car and drive away blasting music with his windows rolled down. It probably didn't help that it was thursday, that meaning that tomorrow he had a game. He was excited for it, and it was causing him to lose focus on the rest of school and just space off thinking about that, not to mention in most of his classes today they were just going to be watching a movie or spending the class time "working quietly" on whatever they personally deemed important. He felt that school today was pointless.
But, he was here. He'd have to deal with it.
He walked up the front stairs, having previously been hanging out with his friends. But after a few laughs, they'd dispersed; probably due to the fact that the cheerleaders were done practicing. On a usual school morning, Landon wasn't accustomed to walking alone; he usually had at least one friend with him. But today was different. He purposely told the other guys to go on ahead without him.
But why had he done that? He didn't really have an answer for himself....maybe it was just the fact that he wanted to hang out with someone else; make some grand entrance in the school to feel important, or maybe, he just was feeling kind of rebellious today and wanted to do something different. But knew?
He passed a few groups of cliques as he walked up the stairs, walking slowly and confidently, wearing an expression very close to smiling. He was sure that he looked pleased with himself, but why wouldn't he be? As he passed more groups, he noticed that the number of students visible got less and less; as he walked farther there were less visible people. He understood why. Who really did want to be at school this early? There was probably about a fifth of the school population here; a sizable amount, but not that much. And as he continued to walk, the halls got more deserted.
So maybe this wasn't a good idea. He didn't want to be alone all together. Everyone knew what kind of guy Landon was. He was social able, talkative, and fun-loving. Sure, he'd chosen to separate himself this morning from most of the guys, but he hadn't really of intended to just be by himself. He'd known that there would be at least someone else who would spot him and greet him; they'd probably ask him about tomorrow's game. That was yet to happen.
But he still looked confident, and a little arrogant. But that was typical of Landon Morrison.
