Her eyes were downcast, her hands shaking slightly. Emmeline was going to be fit to kill in a few moments. But honestly how was Aris supposed to tell her that she had pissed off a vampire? She hadn't meant too, it had just happened. Aris hadn't really lied when she said that she'd fallen out of a tree, but that hadn't been the reason she'd broken her arm. Stuff happened, it was as simple as that. She had merely been in the wrong place at the wrong time. Besides he wouldn't have hurt her in any other situation. He was her friend, he wouldn't have hurt her on purpose. But he hadn't had control over his bloodlust, what had happened out in the forest earlier that day had been her fault. It had been her fault that she had a broken arm. Not his. So how was she supposed to explain all this to Emme? Disbelief was written all over her friends face. The only reason Aris knew thist was beacuse she had finally picked her gaze up. She could read only what was displayed on the pale blonds face. Nothing else. See unlike Emmeline, Aris didn't have any uncanny ability to read so deeply into people. She had never triend. They hid only what they wanted, who was she to try to uncover it? Most secrets are better left unknown. Yet this was probably not one of those situations. She sighed, Aris was thinking back now and options she hadn't even considered before now flooded her mind. How foolish she had been. Aris continuously moved her hair from her face, pushing it behind her ears, yet all her did was fall back into place, covering her eyes. Again and again she pushed away the hair, only to have the curtain return, time and time again. The routine quickly grew old and she pulled her hair into a very messy ponytail. She looked like crap right now anyway, screwed up hair wouldn't make that much of a difference. Dirt and grass stains were caked into her ripped jeans, blood spots dotted her shirt, and her broken arm hung in an awkward position. Why in the hell would anyone give a damn about her hair? After sometime she heard Emmeline speak, "Not much I suppose, I forgot you had that sleeping problem." Aris muttered. But she hadn't completely forgotten. Any thoughts of Emmeline or anyone for that matter, had been pushed to the back of her mind. She bit down on her bottom lip again. Removing her gaze from Emme she cleared her throat. Aris moved as little as possible even a small movement that caused her broken arm to move made her arm flare sickeningly with pain. She concentrated on breathing and not moving. The nurse was taking her sweet arse time and it was beginning to make her angry. Here she was with a broken arm and the nurse was no where to be found. Yet another punishment for the girl to endore. Her good hand grabbed the edge of the bed and held it tight.
There really wasn't a reason for her madness, she seemed to do it out of habit, or just because. Once again Emmeline spoke, and in turn so did she. "Yes, I fell out of a tree." There, now it wasn't an all out lie, she had fallen from a tree, but that had not been the cause of her broken arm. It was a partial truth. Her face had yet to clear of this new emotion that played across it, yet she wasn't even sure if it mattered or not. Aris dropped her gaze, unable to look at Emme now. She couldn't take all the frowning and all the small things that flittered across the blondes face like a movie reel. One scene after the next. She sighed, bringing her free hand to her mouth, she bit on her nails nervously. She honestly didn't know what to expect from Emmeline. The girl, as Aris knew, hated being lied too, and Aris had spoken a lie, a partial lie, but a lie none the less. At this point Emme hadn't brought it up, so either A) she had gotten away with it or B) Emme just choose not to say anything. She was hoping for Option A, but B worked just as well. She took a deep breath and awaited the response of her good friend. Then it came. Aris could hear the sarcasm perfectly and she simply nodded. She'd expected that much from Emme, she also didn't expect an apology. She had after all been caught in the act of lying. She deserved as much. Finally Emme seemed to take a seat beside Aris and now Aris managed to pull her gaze up to look at Emmeline. She took a deep breath again and appreciated the silence that Emme provided for her. She bit down gently on her bottom one last time before her mouth opened and a flood of words escaped her. "Ok well yes I did fall out of a tree today, but that wasn't exactly the cause of this broken arm." she muttered motioning towards her limp arm. "See what happened was I was enjoying the day and such, climbing trees, exploring the forest, what I hadn't counted on was running into a hungry vampire. I mean, I had fallen from the tree when I had seen him hunting. It had sorta scared me, childish I know, but still. So I ended up falling and it seemed like by me hitting the ground I had scared away his lunch, or whatever. Therefore he turned on me. I mean, I know Ryan would never hurt me but it was like he wasn't even Ryan anymore, it was like he was different." Aris said, the words spilling quickly. She wanted to get this explanation out of the way. And she mentally slapped herself for allowing the name to slip. Ryan Bastian Cross, one of Skyla's cousins if she wasn't mistaken. She sighed and continued. "He sort of well attacked me, but I was foolish, I had tried to talk to him, tried to say something, I was being cocky I guess, thinking he wouldn't hurt me, seeing as he's my friend and all, but well like I said it wasn't him, it was like another part of him. And I guess he managed to gain some control because it seemed like he snapped out of it, cause after he realized what was happening he bolted, and I managed to get here." the last of her explanation rushed from her lips and she stared at Emmeline now, waiting for her to say something. Anything, and she awaited the anger that may or may not come. It all depended on how Emme took the news.
