"I've had happy moments in my life, but I don't think that happiness-- being happy-- is a perpetual state that anyone can be in. Life isn't that way."

{appearance}
portrayed by: Emma Watson

overall: Odie Adlam could describe herself in one word, it would probably be average. Dark brown hair, almost always left curly, falls a few inches past her shoulders to frame a heart-shaped, porcelain face. Deep-set, big, brown 'doe eyes' are rarely made-up, occasionally run over with a layer of mascara or eye shadow. Dark brows occasionally need plucking or waxing, but it's not anything too serious. Lightly tanned skin is moisturized beyond belief, giving Odie a velvety texture. But, of course, Odie is far from perfect. Her too-thin lips and boyish jaw line are often the subject to glares in the mirror and layers of lip-plumpening glosses. She's about average height, measuring in at 5 feet, 5 inches, and 113 pounds. There she is. Normal, in almost every aspect.
{personality}
general: Look around at any party, hosted by any clique at any location. You almost certainly won't find Odie dancing wildly about, or even present at all. She's often found standing in her backyard, set up at an eisel with a set of brushes, painting wildly in a pair of rainbow-splattered overalls and bare feet. Yes, Odie's passion is painting. Ever since she was just a baby, watching her mother paint away on her eisel on the porch, she's loved to paint. Needless to say, Odie is shy. She won't run up and hug you, she won't flirt endlessly with any boy, and she most certainly won't jump right into a romantic relationship. With anyone. Well, maybe Jim Sturgess. Her love of art and the Beatles turned her instantly onto Across The Universe, where the girl found her first celebrity crush. Oh, yeah. A gorgeous British boy that can sing, act, and paint. What's not to love?

Father, 45, George Adlam
Brother, 18, Harrison Adlam
Adopted brother, 18, Ronald Adlam
history: Born on the first of January, 1991, Odette Allison Adlam literally was the New Year's Baby. She came out, product of a C-section, with a full head of black hair and eyes so dark you couldn't tell the difference between the iris and the pupil. She lived, with her two older brothers, in Martha's Vineyard, California for the first eleven years of her life. Her mother, Lucy, was a dedicated artist, while her wealthy father, George, was living on a combination of his work as a judge and the old money that had been in his wealthy family for generations.
Eleven years later, in 2002, the Adlam family moved to Los Angeles, where her father quit his job and became a writer for the local newspaper, and her mother continued painting. The three siblings went their seperate ways, with the two older boys going to a private boarding school in Scotland as little Odette stayed at home with Mother and Father.
Nope, no tragic past, no flawed childhood. Just a pretty little American family, living on the money they didn't have to make themselves.
Odie still lives in Los Angeles today, with her mother and father. Harrison and Ronald are still in Scotland, at the Edinburgh School for the Arts.
Ronald, Odie, and Harrison at thier grandparents' house in Martha's Vineyard.

roleplay sample:
The classic tune of The Beatles' While My Guitar Gently Weeps caressed the ear drums of Juliette Marie Carstens, a quiet brunette girl that sat, currently, at the base of a thin Dogwood tree. The spring air had encouraged the pale, pink-and-white petals of the blooms to litter the green grass around her. A single, primarily white petal drifted to land on the leg of Juliette's dark wash skinny jeans. A frail, lightly tanned arm reached to pluck the petal from it's resting spot. Her powder-pink lips pulled into a soft smile as she placed the petal into the crook of the book that lay on her lap. The cap sleeve of a ruffled, faux-silk vintage top rustled in the light spring breeze of April. Olive green eyes blinked slowly as a hand raised to brush the long, sweeping brunette bangs of Juliette out of her face. She crossed her legs at the black wrap-boot-ridden ankles and turned her attention back to the book on her denim lap. Twisting the silver LOVE ring around her right ring finger, Juliette's eyes darted across the lines of eloquent language. Page 206 of The Other Boleyn Girl was ruffled in the breeze before Juliette's own hand took it and turned it. Her page-turning right hand raised to click the charms of a silver heart necklace against eachother. Juliette's lips curved into another powder-pink smile as the song ended, turning instantly into Elton John's Benny and the Jets.
